Star Wars warriors invaded the city of Cardiff this weekend. The men, ready for combat, dressed up in full Star Wars regalia hailed from the UK Garrison and were fund raising for Children in Need. About one thousand pounds were raised during the event.
The UK Garrison is very proud to have raised £49,714.31 this year* for the UKG Charity Fund. This money has been raised by the tireless efforts of our members across the country attending numerous events through the year.
Congratulations to Dean Smith, UKG Trooper of the Year 2014 and Suzi Stelling, recipient of the Graham Campbell Award 2014.
During 2014, our Isle of Wight based Vectis Remnant Squad (VRS) chose Challenge and Adventure as their charity to support. Yesterday they presented the charity with a cheque for a fantastic £2,000. Well done all in the VRS.
Yesterday two Stormtroopers, Gary Hailes (TK 2739) and Steve Buckley (TK 1902), along with our PR Officer Ginny had the humbling experience of visiting Kamran's Ward and meeting a lot of very brave children. We also had the very great pleasure of presenting the ward with a cheque for £5,000.
Yesterday the UKG & Reel Icons had the very, very great pleasure of presenting a cheque for £5,000 to Dawn & Mark Allen for The Henry Allen Trust - Henry's Happiness.
